IJ Start Canon PIXMA TS6100– The color copies of the TS6100 were pretty impressive, although some subtle details in the dark areas were lost in translation. However, the grayscale copies of the graphics have been ruined by rough-looking halftone transitions; Tended to reproduce a little too dark, with lightly stained plots.
The scans on the TS6100 were of the highest quality, with saturated colors and fine details. The scanner was able to accurately reproduce subtle details in the shadow areas.

The TS6100 offers low text printing costs of 6 cents per page with standard cartridges (compared to the average of the category of 8.3 cents). You can reduce the cost of printing text to 5.4 cents per page using high-performance black ink cartridges, in line with the average cost of 5.6 cents per page.
Color pages cost 17.8 cents each, which is well below the average cost of 22.7 cents per page for all-in-one inkjet products. The use of high-performance cartridges reduces the cost just a little, at 17.1 cents per page, which is slightly above the average of 15.6 cents per page for other models. Canon’s Pixma MG3620 still offers the lowest cost of the color page, at 13.3 cents per page.
The ink costs for printing glossy 4 x 6-inch photos are 32 cents each, using standard performance cartridges. Pixma TS6100 High-performance cartridges reduce this cost to 22 cents each.

TS6100 uses both a black pigmented ink (for printing on plain paper) and a black tint (more suitable for glossy photos). For shiny 4 x 6-inch prints, the black dye ink gives you an estimate of 376 prints, while the pigmented ink remains relatively intact and will last for about 2305 photographic prints. Conversely, the black ink cartridge is destined to last for 1,795 prints on common paper of mixed text and graphics, while the pigmented black does the heavy lifting and lasts only 300 pages.

The TS6100 was fast to start, illuminating its touch screen for operation in just 4.5 seconds. This is the fastest boot we’ve seen. In comparison, both Epson XP-420 and WF-2760 started in 6.9 seconds. This is not to say, however, that the TS620 will put a copy in hand 10 seconds later. The start of the copy function required about 15 seconds more than normal; Making a black and white copy took 24.6 seconds after the first start of the TS6100, compared to 9.4 seconds when the all-in-one device was fully heated.
The configuration of the printer via USB and Wi-Fi was simple. The printer drivers were installed correctly and the network setup was intuitive and hassle-free.

Canon offers basic printing and scanning software with TS6100. I ran into problems trying to get the scan function to work on a Windows 10 computer, which a Canon support technician said could be due to interference from the security software. Similarly, I had trouble finding a large imaging software package called My Image Garden to run scans on a Windows Vista PC. Either way, the support technician has distanced me from this software and encouraged me to use the scan utility IJ, which worked properly (and that, I was told, should have been installed from the installation disc when it was Printer driver installed).

The Pixma TS6100 offers a lot of bang for the buck, with lots of features and high performance across the board. Its image quality is very high. And even though the cost of color printing is roughly average for an inkjet printer, the cost of printing the text is low.
